Oppo A79: Features and Specs
The Oppo A79 is the latest in the Oppo A series and features a bezel-less screen with an aspect ratio of 18:9, a trend which a lot of the latest smartphone releases are following. The display is an OLED one, which breaks away from the standard LCD displays that come with the Oppo A series.
The screen is a 6-inch, full HD display that gives you a resolution of 2160×1080 pixels. The screen-to-body ratio stands at 86% and the mobile phone offers a pixel density of 400 ppi.
The version announced in China comes with 4GB RAM, but the specs may be modified for different markets. The Oppo A79 offers 64GB of onboard storage and comes with a microSD slot that lets you add up to 128GB of expandable memory.
The phone is powered by a 64-bit Mediatek MT6763T Helio X23 octa-core SoC paired with a Mali G71 GPU for graphics processing. The Oppo A79 will ship with ColorOS 3.2, which is Oppo’s version of the Android OS.
The current version is the equivalent of Android Nougat 7.1. The phone also features dual-sim, and the 3000mAh battery allows VOOC flash charging technology, which is Oppo’s proprietary battery technology that allows for rapid charge times. In many ways, the phone is quite similar to the Oppo F5.
The phone is fueled by a 3,000mAh battery with support for VOOC charging format. On the software front, the A79 runs Android 7.1.1 Nougat with ColorOS 3.2 layered atop.
Display, Processor, RAM and Storage
Oppo A79 comes with a large 6-inch OLED FHD+ screen which has a resolution of 2160 x 1080 pixels. The display features 18:9 aspect ratio and the top and bottom bezels have been trimmed significantly due to which the device a very high screen-to-body ratio.
Under the hood, Oppo A79 is powered by a MediaTek Helio P23 SoC clocked 2.5GHz which is paired with Mali-G71 GPU and 4GB of RAM. The handset offers 64GB of internal storage which can be further expanded up to 128GB via microSD card.
